Jackson Motor Speedway welcomes major race

BYRAM, MS (WLBT) - Jackson Motor Speedway will hold one of its biggest dirt track races ever on Friday night when the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series comes to town.

Some of the cars competing are owned by Nascar drivers Bobby Labonte and Clint Bowyer.

Local drivers say you can expect plenty of excitement.

"They are going to get to see some racing they haven't had to see in this part of the country in quite some time. You've got the likes of Scott Bloomquist, Jonathan Davenport and Steve Francis, guys like that, that race for a living. It's going to be exciting," said driver Jimmy Cliburn.

Gates at the Jackson Motor Speedway open at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. First race is at 7:00 p.m.
