Jackson Man to Serve 22 Years in Prison - MSNewsNow.com - Jackson, MS
A Jackson man will spend time behind bars for three counts of robbery and aggravated assault in two separate cases involving two victims.
32 year old Antonio Marshall appeared before Judge Tomie Green in Hinds County this week.
In one case, involving a victim in Hinds County, Marshall plead guilty and accepted the state's recommendation of 20 years to serve on an aggravated assault charge.
The co-defendant, Labarron Donelson, is still awaiting trial in this case.
In the other case, also involving a victim from Hinds County, Marshall entered an open plea (meaning he threw himself on the mercy of the court) to charges of robbery and aggravated assault and was sentenced on the robbery charge to ten years with ten suspended and three years post release supervision.
Marshall was sentenced on the aggravated assault charge to five years in custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections with three years suspended and two to serve, both counts to run concurrent to each other and consecutive to the other sentence, meaning Marshall will spend 22 years behind bars.
The case was prosecuted by Special Assistant Attorney General Marvin Sanders and investigated by Investigator Christopher Watkins of the Attorney General's Vulnerable Persons Unit.
