JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
Nearly one week after thousands rallied in Jackson in support of Florida teen Travyon Martin, his family lawyer was in the capital city calling for the arrest of the shooter.
Florida attorney Benjamin Crump held a news conference at the Marriott where he was attending the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity's Seventh District Annual Meeting.
The fraternity is making a national call to action on behalf of the Martin family demanding justice for the fatally shot 17-year-old.
His attorney said recently released police video of George Zimmerman contradicts his claims that Martin injured him.
Crump said there must be an end to racial profiling and the Stand Your Ground Laws.
"We are not asking for a conviction. We just want a simple arrest. We want exactly what they would have done had Trayvon Martin been the trigger man. There is no question in our mind he would have been arrested day one, hour one on the spot and would still be in jail without bail," said Crump.
A Trayvon Martin march will be held Sunday two p.m. starting at the Yazoo County post office and ending at the county courthouse.
