Man fatally shot in home, no suspects no arrests

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A man is murdered inside his northeast Jackson home last night, and police continue the hunt for his killer.

J.P.D. Officer Colendula Green said police received the call around 11:30 Saturday night.

The fatal shooting happened at a town home on Northtown Drive off Old Canton Road.

The victim, 37-year-old Andrew Gordon, was found in the bedroom of his home.

Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham Stewart said Gordon was shot once in the back and once in the shoulder.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Jackson police, no motive has been established and no suspects have been identified.

Sources told WLBT that others were inside the home at the time of the shooting, but investigators would not release any additional information about the homicide.

It is the 18th murder investigation of the year.

Officials said there were nine homicides by this time in 2011.
