Shooting suspect to plead guilty in court Monday

RANKIN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A man charged in the execution-style slaying of a Rankin County woman is expected to enter a plea Monday.

Rankin County District Attorney Michael Guest says that Jermaine Tyler will plead guilty tomorrow.

Jermaine Tyler and Walter Burton, both of Jackson, are charged with capital murder in the

death of Leslie Doame in Rankin County.

Capital murder carries the possibility of a death sentence. Tyler's lawyer says his client will enter the plea. Burton is scheduled for trial in October.

Investigators say Tyler confessed to shooting Doame in the back of the head when he and Burton robbed the home of Doame's parents near Brandon last September.
