Jermaine Tyler has pleaded guilty to Capital Murder charges and sentenced to life in prison. He's charged in the death of Leslie Doame.

Tyler and Walter Burton were accused of committing Doame gruesome murder on September 27, 2011. Investigators believe the duo broke into her parent's home while the 37 year-old was home by herself.

Doame was shot in the back of the head after Tyler and Burton noticed she was home. Tyler admits to pulling the trigger.

Theresa Sheppard, Doame's mother addressed the court Monday after the sentencing, saying, "Our family prays Mr. Tyler will turn his life over to Jesus Christ, so he will not have to someday stand before the lord God almighty, and be guilty and be condemned without hope."

Rankin county District Attorney Michael Guest says, "He has cooperated after he was apprehended, he has given us information that is central for us to be able to prosecute."

Burton will go to trial in October.
