Forth-six-year-old Annette Clincy of Jackson is in the Hinds County Jail after a grocery store dispute spilled into the parking lot. Police say she got a gun and fired at the woman she was having a disagreement with.

It happened Sunday in the parking lot of the Grocery Depot. Chief Don Byington says two women got into an argument over the number of items in a shopping cart going through a line where the number of items was limited.

He said the management of the store ordered both women to leave the store.

"We had an incident yesterday where two ladies were in the line, at the corner market which is located on Northside Drive" said Chief Byington. (They) Had some kind of verbal altercation, escalated. Management asked both individuals to leave the store. One of the individuals approached her vehicle, she retrieved a .25 caliber pistol, and shot in the direction of the victim as she was leaving the store. "

Fortunately, nobody was hit by the gunfire and nobody was hurt.

Police arrived quickly and charged 46 year old Annette Clincy of Jackson with aggravated assault with a firearm, and shooting a firearm at a motor vehicle. She is being held on a $175,000 bond.
