More Storms Today

Posted: Updated:
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The early morning showers will stay very light, to near sprinkles at most, as we brace for stronger storms later in the day. Expect highs to reach into the lower 80s and winds from the southeast at 5-10 mph. We'll still have a 50% chance of rain today, so do buy into the idea  that this is a 'rest' day.

Tonight mostly cloudy skies are likely to be the case along with some heavy showers during the early evening hours. The potential of bad weather is still there and threatening. Accumulations could reach up to a full inch of rain or more in some areas. Temps will drop to the mid 60s, winds south at 10-15 MPH.

Tomorrow we are expecting severe storms, plain and simple. They are likely to be during the afternoon hours, but a few strong storms may sneak in during the morning hours. I DO EXPECT possible tornadoes during the afternoon, so please activate your severe weather protocol and double check the batteries in your Midland weather radio; the power may go out.
