PEARL, MS (WLBT) - With a fresh crop of talent aboard, the Mississippi Braves will set sail on Thursday with their 2012 season.
Those new faces were showing off the skills Wednesday night as the team held its first and final full practice.
If you like seeing plenty of pop with your baseball team, this year's squad might be just for you.
New manager Aaron Holbert feels this squad has not only great bats, but pitching and defense.
That could mean success is on the way.
"We have a pretty solid group here. Whether its starting pitching, the bullpen looks good and our position players, mostly all of them had very solid years last year. It should be a very exciting year I should say," said Holbert.
The MBraves open the 2012 season on Thursday at Trustmark Park against the Mobile BayBears.
First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m.
