Judge dismisses child-abuse allegations

Hinds County Youth Court Judge William Skinner has ruled that the sexual abuse allegations made by a Jackson grandmother of a five-year-old girl then in her temporary custody are to be dismissed.

The unidentified grandmother, who was referred to as "Mary" in a WLBT News report in October 2011, had made claims and allegations against the child's father.

Judge Skinner also ruled that the grandmother will have no further contact with the child in any way or face possible fines and jail time.

The judge also ruled that the child and her sibling will remain in the custody of their mother and father.
