If you're looking for some good, clean fun, KidFest in Ridgeland is the place to come this weekend and next weekend. The kids aren't bashful about having a good time.
"I get to be out of school and its fun," said fourth grader Amber Parks
One of the new attractions at this year's KidFest is the "Sea Lion Splash." Rescued sea lions perform lots of fun and entertaining tricks, like handstands and balancing acts. Mom Angela Funches said there's no better place to be with the family.
"They're enjoying it I'm enjoying it and maybe we can get a good nap after this," said Funches.
KidFest is also known for activities like pony rides and numerous carnival rides. A big plus is all of the festivities are one flat rate when you pay to get in.
Kesha Funches is Angela's sister-in-law. She said, "There's a lot to do for $10 and if you have a coupon it's $8."
The fun is also good for the city of Ridgeland. "There are always people that come in to town, some people spend the night in hotels a lot of people eat in restaurants and shopping in stores so it's good for the economy," said Ridgeland Mayor Gene McGee.
You can even hold a baby alligator and sit on an adult alligator at KidFest. The alligators are a part of the "Gator Boys Alligator Wrestling" show. The Gator Boys have a show on the Animal Planet. They wrestle gators and actually put their faces in the gators mouth.
"Alligator wrestling is not what most people think you're not going to see body slams, it's actually going in the wild or in this case a pit and catching a alligator," said Jimmy Riffle, who is one of the Gator Boys.
KidFest runs April 6th and 7th and April 14th and 15th. For more information on tickets and attractions go to http://kidfestridgeland.com
