JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
A boil water notice has been issued by the Mississippi State Department of Health for parts of Hinds County until further notice.
The South Central Water Association issued the boil-water alert for approximately 1,000 customers in the Raymond-Clinton area.
Water system officials notified the state department of health of a pressure loss due to one or more line breaks.
The public is being asked not to drink tap water while the water system is under a boil water advisory.
Health officials strongly recommend that all water be brought to a rolling boil for one minute before it is consumed.
