OKOLONA, Miss. (AP) - Authorities say two men were taken to North Mississippi Medical Center after a hunting accident.
Lt. Randy Newell, a spokesman with Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks, tells reporters four men who knew each other were turkey hunting off of Highway 41 near the Natchez Trace Parkway when two were shot around 5:10 p.m. Saturday.
Authorities say 53-year-old Lewis Frazier and 56-year-old Trey MacAlister were accidentally shot by Charles Hall with one shot from a shotgun.
Newell said both men were released from the hospital, and no charges have been filed. Newell said the accident will be reconstructed and it is under investigation.
