Man charged with manslaughter in wife's death - MSNewsNow.com - Jackson, MS
PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - A 57-year-old Vancleave man, who is charged with manslaughter in the fatal shooting death of his wife on Thursday, posted $20,000 bail and was released from the Jackson County Adult Detention Center.
Don Thames appeared before County judge Larry Wilson on Monday.
Jackson County Coroner Vicki Broadus says an autopsy on his wife, 60-year-old Janet Thames, showed she died of multiple gunshot wounds.
Pascagoula attorney Calvin Taylor, who represented Don Thames in court, said his client is a previous victim of domestic violence by his deceased wife.
Taylor said the violence occurred 12 to 18 months ago, and Janet Thames was participating in a counseling program.
