Pirate band to perform for President Obama

PEARL, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A group of high school students from the metro area is headed to the nation's capital to perform for President Barack Obama.

The Pearl High School Band loaded up their instruments and gear Wednesday afternoon for the bus ride to Washington, D.C.

The Pirate Band will perform at the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade this weekend.

The parade gets underway at 10 a.m. Saturday morning.

The defending Class 5A State Champions will arrive back in Pearl Sunday afternoon.
