JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
A Hinds County inmate who's been on the run since Tuesday morning was back in custody Wednesday night. Nathaniel Brent, 36, escaped from the Hinds County Detention Center in Raymond.
Authorities say shortly before 9:30 PM a Crimestoppers Tip came in that Brent was in the vicinity of Windsor Drive in Jackson.
When Hinds County Sheriff's Deputies, U.S. Marshals and Jackson Police responded Brent fled. He ran to a residence on Kildare Court, off Clinton Boulevard and was captured.
According to law enforcement, Brent was unarmed, but now a dangerous criminal is off the streets.
"The suspect did resist, he fought deputies. Right now he's being transported for injuries he sustained while fighting deputies," said Captain Joseph Daughtry with the Hinds County Sheriff's Department.
Brent was taken to a local hospital by AMR. No word on the extent of his injuries.
He was being held on sexual battery and domestic violence charges from back in March.
Brent also escaped from the Hinds County jail in 2003.
