An educational and fun event for children took place at the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science Saturday.
Children packed the inside and outside of the museum for the 12th annual NatureFEST!. The event celebrates all aspects of nature, including Mississippi's native plants and animals. For the first time at NatureFEST!, arts and crafts were also included as activities.
"We have everything from face painting to inky the clown, we have reptile shows today we have a birds of prey show, we have Rob Myas here from Michigan with a two tone sloth we also have a band owl, a flying squirrel and a stripped skunk," said Megan Fredrick, the Special Events Coordinator for the museum.
NatureFEST! guests also had a chance to buy a pair of Toms shoes and have them painted by local artists.
