Rain, a few storms possible

Posted: Updated:

The massive storm system that brought severe weather to our west, is weakening as it heads east. The best wind energy and dynamics will pass by to our north. Instability over us will weaken, too. This means by the time the system reaches us early Monday, it won't have much to work with.

Late tonight, a broken squall line of storms in Louisiana will near the Mississippi River. Any impact from this line of storms will not be felt until after Midnight. Right now I think the earliest impact would be around 3-6am.

The line of rain and a few storms will continue to weaken and slow down as it reaches the Natchez Trace Parkway. Rain may briefly diminish before additional showers and storms reform Monday afternoon. Another round of showers is possible across southern parts of Mississippi on Tuesday.

You can keep updated on the forecast and track the storms using our First Alert Weather App available for the for i-Phone and Android. I'll also be sending weather updates to Twitter and Facebook.
