8-year-old boy killed in head-on collision - MSNewsNow.com - Jackson, MS
Toxicology reports are pending on one of the drivers in a crash that killed an eight-year-old boy. The accident happened around 4:15 Sunday afternoon on Highway 51 in Holmes County, south of Durant.
Sergeant Ben Williams says a Mercury Marquis was attempting to pass another car near State Park Road when the Mercury collided head-on with a Honda Accord.
Eight-year-old Denvizian Washington, who was riding in the Honda, was killed.
Sergeant Washington says the driver of the Honda, 42-year-old Rodney Luckett of Goodman, could face charges if investigators determine that he had been drinking before the accident.
Six other people, including Luckett, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
