BRANDON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Two men who fled from Brandon Police officers attempting to make a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon were taken into custody Thursday night.

It started just before 11 a.m., when officers ran the tag of a Buick Rendezvous at I-20 and Crossgates. The vehicle came back stolen out of Jackson.

Police chased the SUV to Terrapin drive where two individuals, 18-year-old Rahim Williams and 18-year-old Sirdarous Sheriff, got out and ran. Williams and Sheriff are both from Jackson.

Ridgeland currently has an arrest warrant out on Sheriff for an auto burglary stemming from October.

Sheriff and Williams turned themselves in Thursday evening. They are each charged with receiving stolen property. The pair is being held at the Rankin County jail without bond.

Police say the juvenile in custody, is also cooperating.

"We do have information that possibly links them to some house burglaries," Says Assistant Chief Boyd.
