High pressure oozed into the area today, making way for lots of sunshine. Our sky will remain clear through Friday. Lows will be in the 40s tonight. Highs on Thursday and Friday will top out near 80.
A piece of energy will drop into the Deep South from the northwest. This will aid in a surface low to develop along the coast by Saturday morning. Clouds will rapidly increase late Friday with showers developing Friday night.
The low will track along the coast and into Alabama late Saturday. Heavy storms are possible across south Mississippi, with any severe weather likely staying in Alabama or perhaps coastal Mississippi.
Gusty winds will develop over our region, with clouds and lighter rain showers throughout Saturday in central Mississippi.
The low will depart Saturday night. Morning clouds on Sunday will give way to some sunshine by afternoon. A cool north wind will keep temperatures below normal Sunday into Monday.
