Two Yazoo City residents have complained to about dogs being shot to death by animal control officers. Both of the shootings happened in the 100 block of Cherry Street.
Fifty-six-year-old John Jackson says his dog was killed Wednesday morning.
Jackson says the animal control officers shot the dog in the head, leaving four puppies about two months old.
"Pow, pow, pow" said Jackson. "Didn't tell me why or nothing. They didn't give me no explanation as to why they are doing it. Right here by this red bucket, that's where my dog was."
His neighbor, across the street, 30 year old Nordek Langston, says his dog, from the same litter as this German Sheppard, was shot in the eye about three weeks ago.
"I don't think they have the right to go around here shooting people's dogs" said Langston. "I had a puppy, her brother, and I mean he was gorgeous, he was gorgeous Mr. Case. Dead, right here in front of my child and my girl."
We went to city hall, where we talked to the two animal control officers, named by Langston, but they would not appear on camera. They said they had many complaints about the dogs and in the words of David Rogers, "They are telling you wrong."
He wouldn't say more until the mayor of Yazoo City returns from New York.
The owner of one of the dogs says it was chained when it was shot.
