Four arrested for credit card fraud and identity theft

Posted: Updated:
FLOWOOD, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Flowood Police have made four arrests in a major credit card fraud operation. Four young women, ages 18-22, were arrested as they tried to leave the Flowood Target.

In custody are:

  • Ashley Dover - 22 years old
  • Olivia Ray - 20 years old
  • Tashanna Toler - 18 years old
  • Kieariah Collins - 20 years old

All four are from Illinois, and Dover is a Jackson State student.

Flowood Police and JSU Police recovered a credit card making system in Dover's dorm room, which included the actual embossing and tipping machines.

Detective Lloyd Coulter says, "We know right now 54 credit cards have been compromised as of right now, only four victims have come forward."

All four are in the Rankin County Jail charged with 16 felonies for Identity Theft and Credit Card Fraud. Their bond is $450-thousand-dollars each.

"My understanding is they had an inside source at the bank that leaked out the information," says Coulter.

Flowood Police have learned they spent more than $35,000 in metro businesses using at least four stolen credit card numbers.   They bought items like iPads, and gift cards which they sold for cash.

They've received calls about the fraud from as far away as North Carolina.

The U. S. Secret Service has been contacted and is assisting in the investigation.

Experts recommend monitoring your credit card statements to prevent someone spending your money, through information stolen from credit cards.
