MADISON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Madison Fire Department rescue and diver team boat is at a small lake in the Haddington Cove section of the Reunion subdivision.

Authorities say they're using sonar equipment to attempt to locate electronic equipment in the water, reportedly stolen during car burglaries on Tuesday.

Seventeen-year-old Max Rhodes of Gluckstadt is charged with car burglary and aggravated assault on a police officer.

During the incident, Rhodes allegedly tried to grab an officer's gun. He will be prosecuted as an adult. Another 16 year old male was also charged. His case will be handled through youth court.

The Madison Police Department says the fire department is taking the opportunity to try out their sonar equipment.
