Parts Thief In Court

Posted: Updated:

The man who police say had thousands in stolen parts from the Nissan plant was in court Friday morning.

49-Year-Old Eric Brown made his initial appearance in Jackson municipal court. Brown's bond was set at $100,000.00 on multiple counts of receiving and possession of stolen property.

Wednesday, police say they uncovered $83,000.00 worth of new Nissan parts at Brown's business, Precious Automotive Auto Restoration, on Gault street in Jackson. They say it was really a cover for a chop shop.

Investigators say they still don't know how the parts were stolen. Detectives are still going through items found on the property to see if more charges can be filed.

Brown also faces fines for a previous possession of marijuana charge.

Officers also charged a Ray Coleman with auto theft, who had brought a stolen vehicle to Brown's shop.
