JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

If you enjoy going out on the green, why not take your skills to Brandon today and swing for a very good cause. The 7th Annual Benefit Scramble Golf Tournament gets underway early Friday morning.

The all day golf outing is a collaboration between the Mississippi Healthcare Foundation and the Steel Magnolias golf team.

All proceeds from this golf benefit raise money for Mississippians living in nursing homes who do not have insurance or the ability to pay for personal and medical needs.

Some of the items purchased for recipients include items like hearing aids, dentures and eyeglasses.

Proceeds have also helped pay for outings to a Harlem Globetrotter game and a Mississippi Braves game.

Space is still available for people to register for the golf benefit. The morning's shotgun start is 8:30, followed by an afternoon start at 1:30.

Call the Mississippi Health Care Foundation at 601-956-3472 for additional information or go to their website at www.mshca.com/foundation.
