Employees from Garrett construction and siemens were also on hand, volunteering in the cleanup.
Siemens even made a cash donation into the project, which included beautification of the grounds, and landscaping.
Chris McNeil with Siemens says, "Close to $20,000.00 were investing in this park it's done in conjunction, the city is working with us, Americorp it's a good partnership you got in the private and public sector coming together to help the community."
"It's a great asset, one that's kinds of been hidden for a while now. We have gotten new management there at the tennis center south, there's been a lot of matches, people playing from all over the city that's coming here now to play. We just want to make a big impact and show them were interested in bringing it back," says Allen Jones.
Over sixty people took part in the cleanup. Their goal make the park attractive to residents, and get it back into regular use, especially for the younger ones in the area.
