COPIAH COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Copiah County Deputies have made three arrests in connection with the shooting of a 76-year-old woman Wednesday night.

Jermaine Benson, Ashley Dollar, and Juan Catchings, all of Crystal Springs, are charged with aggravated assault and armed robbery. Undersheriff Derrick Cubit says Catchings turned himself in, and Benson and Dollar were arrested Saturday morning. Ages of the suspects were not immediately available.

Just before 8 Wednesday night, Lillian Castleberry was shot twice in the upper back. She was inside her home on Raymond Road at the time. The sheriff's department says money was stolen from the home.

Despite her wounds, Castleberry had the presence of mind to drive herself to a friend's house a mile and a half away. That friend alerted authorities.

Castleberry is currently recovering at a Jackson hospital, and she's doing well.

The suspects are being held in the Copiah County Jail.
