JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
A Mississippi women's organization is waging war against recently passed abortion restrictions and issues they call attacks on women.
WAR or Women Are Representing rallied Saturday at the State Capitol.
About a hundred people attended holding signs that read "Stop the War on Women" and "My Body, My Right, Back off".
They were hoping to get their message to lawmakers during the extended session.
Organizers said House Bill 1390, signed into law by the governor, and heart beat language in legislation are anti-choice and anti-women.
"It feels like no one is listening because I thought we, I was pretty sure we voted in November against personhood which meant we really do need to have not an abortion free Mississippi but a Mississippi where there's access to abortive care," said Lauri Roberts, spokesperson for Mississippi Women Are Representing.
Similar rallies and marches were held throughout the country and in the nation's capital.
