Lots of love and support from home for Brandon country rocker Skylar Laine who showed off her talent to the world Wednesday night on American Idol.
Supporters cheered the 18-year-old's powerful performance of Creedence Clearwater Revivals' Fortunate Son during this week's episode.
Skylar rocked the Rankin County Multi-Purpose Pavilion where fans rooted for their hometown girl.
The City of Brandon sponsored the viewing party where Skylar T-shirts were also sold.
"We appreciate her granddaddy dropping by the mayor's office yesterday. He just wanted to come in and personally thank the whole city for the support, all the posters," said Tahya Dobbs with The City of Brandon.
"We've been supporting here since she was in kindergarten. She's just grown up in this community, and it's just an exciting time. Of course we want her to be in the top five. We want her to be in the top. We want her to win," said Brandon Ward 5 Alderman Yvonne Biachi.
Skylar fans look forward to seeing her make it through Thursdays eliminations, one step closer to being the 11th season singing champion.
