Prayer vigil held for fallen officer

RANKIN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A prayer vigil was held Thursday night near the reservoir for fallen Pearl Police Investigator Mike Walter.

Walter's daughter Bailey is a member of one of the soccer teams from this area.

Parents and teammates wanted to show their support for the family.

Each person who came to the soccer field was asked to bring a candle to remember Officer Walter and how he made the ultimate sacrifice in service to his community.
