JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
The public is invited to honor slain Pearl Police Officer Michael Walter during a "final patrol" scheduled for Friday morning.
The Pearl Police Department will escort Officer Walter's body from the Wright and Ferguson Funeral home on High Street in Jackson to the Pine Lake Baptist Church in Brandon.
The "final patrol" for Officer Walter will begin between 10:30 and 11:00 Friday morning. Everyone is invited to line the patrol route as the body is moved.
Walter's body will be escorted down High Street to I-55 and onto I-20. From I-20 the memorial will head onto the Pearson Road headed north to Old Brandon Road. T
he processional will go down Old Brandon Road past City Hall and the Police Department. It will then turn north on Bierdman Road to Highway 80, all the way to Highway 471.
The final patrol will complete its route at the Pine Lake Baptist Church. The public can pay respects to Officer Walter from 1 P.M. to 4 P.M. Friday.
The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday at 2 P.M.
