A Facebook video shows sheer chaos on a Claiborne County school bus.
The profanity laden video only shows a portion of the Thursday afternoon incident.
The bus driver, Nicole Truitt, tells WLBT news a mother and possibly a student on the bus attacked her after a series of events that day.
The second year driver claims she tried to get a female student to sit at the front of the bus. When the child refused, she went to get her. Truitt says she then grabbed the child's hand and began to somehow carry her to the front of this bus.
During this time, the child's sister called their mother on a cell phone.
Truitt says when she got to the child's bus stop, the mother came on board and attacked her.
This all happened when the bus was in drive and slowly moving. Truitt says students were jumping out of the back of the bus during the fight.
Claiborne County Superintendent of Education Elijah Brown says the mother is facing charges for assaulting Truitt and for trespassing on the bus.
This is one of several violent incidents recently reported in the school district. Brown says educators are being extra vigilant and new security measures are in place.
However, there was no security camera on the bus Truitt was allegedly attacked on.
Truitt says plugs of hair were pulled out of her head and she still has a bump from the fight.
Claiborne County Sheriff Marvin Lucas was in court Monday and unavailable for comment.
The state Department of Education does provide personal safety training for bus drivers but does not keep statewide statistics on how many bus drivers are attacked.
