Skylar Laine performs national anthem at MBraves game

PEARL, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Brandon native Skylar Laine took the field to sing the national anthem at Trustmark Park in Pearl Thursday night.

Laine also threw out the first pitch of the Mississippi Braves game.

Then, she stuck around to sign autographs for her fans.

The 18-year-old made it to the top five of American Idol before being voted off last week.

She will also make appearances at Flowood Festival and Brandon Day Saturday.

Laine will not be allowed to perform at either event.
