Rain and scattered storms continue over central and south Mississippi. The strongest storms have been near the Hattiesburg area through early afternoon.
The risk of severe weather is low for today. One or two strong storms are possible across south Mississippi late morning or this afternoon. Isolated damaging wind gusts would be the main threat from any storm, with an extremely low risk for a brief spin-up tornado. Again, I want to caution this is a very low chance as winds are relatively weak in the atmosphere.
Rain chances will remain high through tonight, then decrease on Sunday morning as low pressure pulls away into Alabama.
Rainfall totals will be on the order 1"-2", with locally higher amounts.
