Officials wait to speak with sisters about alleged kidnapping

Posted: Updated:

Officials are still waiting to talk with two sisters who are now safe at home after being kidnapped from Tennessee by a family friend on April 27th.

12-year-old Alexandria and 8-year-old Kyliyah Bain were discovered, along with Adam Mayes, at Zion Hill Church on County Road 183 in Union County Thursday.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol's special operations group and the Mississippi Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks discovered the trio in the woods near the church.

As officers approached, Mayes shot himself in the head, that was according to the Union County Sheriff's Department.

The sisters were found dehydrated with poison ivy. They were taken to a children's hospital in Memphis for treatment. The Bain sisters were eventually released and taken home.

No word yet on funeral arrangements for their mother Jo Ann Bain or their 14-year-old sister Adrienne.

Also no more arrests have been made at this time.
