The eighth Commandment says, 'Thou shall not steal'. Now a Jackson pastor says he has the answer for anyone who violates that at his church.
Sometime Tuesday morning, an air conditioner was stolen from the Cathedral of Faith Church on Highway 18 and Siwell Road.
The church pastor, Dr. B Sullivan Taylor, has now put a sign up to scare any future thieves away.
It says anyone who steals from the church will be shot dead, and if they don't believe him, they should 'try him'.
The thieves cut through a metal security cage to get to the air conditioning unit. Pastor Taylor is also a chaplain for the Jackson Police Department. He says the thieves were professionals.
"We've put some things in place where by if they return to attempt that again, they will do it at their own peril. If they don't know Jesus, they will see Him the very next time they do that," said Pastor Taylor.
The Cathedral of Faith recently moved their church from the county into the city location.
Jackson police say they have not had a rash of air conditioner thefts in recent weeks.
