One of the few times children don't celebrate adoption is when it leads to separation from a sibling. We met a sibling group of four almost three years ago on Wednesday's Child. Their youngest sister has been adopted but the others continue to hope to be together under one roof.
Sadie is now 14 years old, Glenn is 12 and Demiracle is 11. Their youngest sister Deborah who is now 5 has been adopted.
"Do you have a nickname or does everybody call you Demiracle? I have a nickname. What's your nickname? Demontay. Oh wow, do you like Demontay or Demiracle better? Demontay", said Demiracle.
"What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a basketball player. Do you have a favorite basketball player now? Yes. Who? Kobe Bryant", Glenn said.
"I like to play basketball, I like to skate, and sometimes I like to help out others that are need, that are needy", Sadie said.
When we first started out none of the children could skate with the exception of Sadie. But after a few turns and spills they all caught on.
"Tell me what you like most about skating. I like the part that.. Going fast? Mmm hmm.. And going all the way around the yellow thing", said Glenn.
"What do you want to be when you grow up? Professional skater and that's it", Demiracle said.
You said there are lots of things you want to do. Olympics, basketball, cosmetologist, veterinarian", said Sadie.
Sadie, Glenn and Demiracle were afraid they would be separated. Now that Deborah has a permanent home they are waiting for their turn and hoping they can stay together.
