Madison police have made two arrests in the armed robbery of the Dollar Tree on Grandview Blvd. The robbery happened around 11:00 Wednesday night. A man with a gun approached an employee in the parking lot. He forced the victim back into the closed store where two other employees were still inside.
The gunman forced one of the employees to empty the contents of the safe. Then he tied them up and fled the scene in a red Pontiac Grand Am. Investigators located the vehicle on I55 North and pulled it over. Two men were inside, along with a large sum or money and a handgun.
Officers arrested Lyndon Charles Myers and Earnest James Johnson, both of Canton. Both men are charged with armed robbery and are being held at the Madison County Detention center, pending an initial appearance with Judge Dale Danks.
