A year ago, I told you about a nephew of mine who lost his life in Afghanistan.
Marine Staff Sergeant Jason Rogers of Brandon and his Engineer patrol were looking for Improvised Explosive Devices.
In the process, two of his Marines were wounded, one losing his legs and an arm.
Jason tended to their wounds and then raced to their vehicle and came back with stretchers.
As he was leading them to safety, Jason was killed by another IED.
This past Saturday at Texas A&M's graduation, Marine Sergeant Jarrod Alexander and Marine Corporal Joshua Benjamin Kerns who were saved by Jason's heroic act pinned the Lieutenant bars on a newly commissioned U.S. Army officer and then saluted 2nd Lt. Brad Bynum, Jason Rogers' younger brother, who is also from Brandon.
For those who attended, it was a very proud and moving moment.
I just thought you might want to know this nice update.
That's my Point of View
