Isolated T-Storms Making Morning Drive A Drag...

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Early morning storms developed quickly before the sun rose, causing several areas of heavy rainfall that slowed down the commute. The residents traveling along highway 49 felt the early push of the showers which also feature several lighting strikes. We have a 60% chance of showers and T-storms with a high near 90 degrees for the day.

Tonight the majority of the rain should be out of the way; with the exception in the extreme southeastern portions of the state. Overnight temps will be in the 60s, and we expect the clouds to stick around until the early morning hours on Tuesday. Overnight our chances of rain will drop to 20% or less. Winds will be from the north at 5-10 mph.

Tomorrow we could see a brief spot shower in the 'predawn' hours, but that should be it. Outside of that possibility, we'll mainly see sunshine returning to the area with highs in the mid 80s. The rest of the work week will stay dry and humid.
