Fallen utility line frustrates homeowner

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A downed utility line caused frustration for a west Jackson family.

Charles Williams said a limb from his neighbor's tree knocked down a line last Monday morning.

It landed across his truck and fence, bending the vehicle's antenna.

The retired Jackson resident said the line was hanging across Terrace Avenue in the path of cars.

Williams said he tried it keep it from being snagged because it remained attached to the pole and his home.

He said he has been experiencing outages with his cable, Internet and phone service since the line fell.

The 60-year-old told WLBT that he's gotten the run around from their cable provider for a week.

Tuesday, a Comcast technician arrived and examined the line.

"Comcast said they sent a service truck out here, and they said that line had to be replaced and they had to get a larger service truck out here in order to do it. So that's all we know. Now they tell us it's not their line," said Williams.

He was told the line belongs to AT&T.

Williams said he will now contact the phone company in hopes of addressing the problems.
