Twenty-three-year-old Henry Roundtree turned himself in Wednesday on warrants for capital murder, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, armed robbery and aggravated assault.

Another man, 23-year-old Gregory Smith, who is already in custody for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, will also be charged in the shooting, police said. Smith will be charged with capital murder, aggravated assault and armed robbery.

On the night of May 8 officers responded to 1319 Topp Avenue in Jackson in reference to a shooting.

Police say the suspects went into the victims' home, displayed weapons and demanded the victims give them their belongings. A struggle ensued, shots were fired and the suspects fled.

Two men were shot. Marcus Hopkins, 24, who was shot under his right arm died in the hospital days after the shooting.

The surviving victim, who had been shot in the leg, was able to pick Roundtree's photo from a line up.
