PEARL, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
A refrigerated Kroger 18-wheeler left Interstate 20 eastbound in Pearl sometime Friday morning and crashed. About 150 gallons of diesel fuel spilled.
At 3:30 p.m. Friday, MDOT said all the lanes of I-20 eastbound were back open.
The right lane of I-20 eastbound, just past the Pearson Road Exit (Exit 48), had been closed for several hours to cleanup the accident.
The lane closure caused traffic to back up on I-20 eastbound.
MDOT also said it will not shut down the interstate Friday as originally planned. They have postponed the recovery of the 18-wheeler to sometime Saturday.
The big rig ran into the woods, knocking down several trees, but the driver's compartment is intact. It's not clear if anyone was hurt.
