JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Sources tell WLBT Linda Reed is alive and has been found in Mexico.

WLBT has contacted the FBI to ask if the 65-year-old woman had been arrested in Mexico with a large amount of money on her. The FBI told us quote, "no comment."

In an email, a United States consular agent in Acapulco, Mexico says there is no record of Reed being arrested there in local jails or prisons.

Copiah County Sheriff Harold Jones and Reed's family told WLBT they have not been contacted by the FBI nor do they know the missing woman's whereabouts. Thus far, no agency has confirmed or denied our report.

Reed was last heard from April 29th. Her car was found the next day, just off I-55, near Gallman.

She lives in Carrollton with her husband, but works during the week at Moore Fabrications in Gallman.

Some questions have been raised about bookkeeping practices at the business, where Reed has been a bookkeeper for 13 years.

A massive search for Reed was conducted in the days and weeks after she went missing.

Texas Equusearch came to Copiah County and put several parties on the ground, on horseback, and ATVs to search for Reed.

A ten thousand dollar reward has been offered for information regarding her disappearance.
