This Memorial Day marked the official opening of the city of Jackson's eight swimming pools.
Two locations we visited had several people soaking up the sun while also trying to keep cool.
Our first stop took us to the Russell C. Davis pool on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
Close to a dozen people were out enjoying the water.
Turnout was about the same at the Grove Park swimming pool on Northside Drive.
The pools will be open through the summer season and are maintained by professional, certified pools managers and lifeguards.
Admission is $1 for children and a $1.50 for adults.
