JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

An insurance executive is expressing his concern after last week's deadly accident involving one of their employees and a company vehicle.

President elect and chief operating officer Rick Means of Shelter Insurance Companies offered condolences on behalf of the organization to those involved in the accident.

"Our hearts go out to the families and friends of these women.  It's a tragic loss. We are keeping everyone impacted by this accident in our thoughts and prayers," said Means.

Kyeuna Vance, 30, was killed and her twin sister hospitalized after a Shelter insurance SUV slammed into them on Highway 80 in Jackson.

The twin sisters and a man were pushing a Dodge Avenger out of the eastbound lanes, when a ford escape crashed into them from behind.

We were told by JPD Deputy Chief Eric Wall that the driver of the SUV distracted, but the nature of distraction was not disclosed.

The third pedestrian was reportedly so shaken he left the scene.

Rick Means went on to say they will cooperate fully with authorities during the investigation.
