The heat of the day will kick in as early as the mid morning hours with temps rising to the mid 80s by then. Lunchtime temps will tip the scales in the 90s and the afternoon high of 95 will accompanied with a heat index approaching 100 degrees.
A slight chance of rain during the afternoon hours is looking dismal at best; and winds from the west at 5-10 mph.
Tonight a few more clouds will move into the area as a front from the west slowly draws near. Our chances of rain will begin to go on the rise quickly as the front get closer. Overnight temps will fall into the upper 60s. And the winds will be from the southwest at 5-10 mph.
Tomorrow the heat sticks around with a few more clouds and a better chance of rain in the forecast. Expect at least a 20-30% chance of rain mainly in the afternoon hours.
The winds will primarily come from the west as a front gains ground in our area. Some of the storms could become strong. We'll keep you updated on any changes on twitter and Facebook as well as wlbt.com.
