The storm prediction center is targeting the lower Mississippi Valley region for at least a slight chance of severe weather. Yesterday's rain has already soaked the ground, so the additional showers for today could cause some flash flooding during storm events.
There's a 60% chance of showers, and we should reach a high of 88 degrees with winds from the south at 10-15 mph.
Tonight it looks like the rain will continue. This is particularly true for the early evening hours. We'll maintain a 50% chance of showers during the evening and late night hours. Temps will fall into the upper 60s and winds from the south at 5-10 mph.
Friday, the clearing out of sky conditions will be the main feature, along with a side benefit of cooler weather. Temps are expected to only climb to near 80 degrees for the afternoon high.
The lower temps are due to the 'rain cooled' atmosphere and a cold front passing through our area, winds shifting and light.
