A man, shot multiple times, was found dead this morning behind a vacant house on North McRaven Road.
Jackson Police responded to a "shots fired" call around 11:15 at 6171 North McRaven Road. They found the victim behind an unoccupied home.
The man, described as a black male, hasn't been identified.
"The preliminary investigation reveals an unidentified black male has been shot multiple times behind the residence at 6171 McRaven Road" said officer Colendula Green. "Right now we don't have a suspect or motive at this time but detectives are out investigating this crime scene."
Neighbors say the homeowner moved out of the residence five months ago. The home is currently up for sale.
This is the Jackson's 28th homicide of the year.
Neighbors are concerned the neighborhood has become a hotspot for criminals to do their dirty work.
Easter Sunday the body of 29-Year-Old Johnny Chambers was found in Butts Park just down the street.
Timothy Palmer who lives two doors down didn't hear the shots, but came outside when he saw the police activity.
Palmer says, "This is the second time something like this has happened in this area."
